Thank you so much to everyone who participated in my Secret Sketch competition! Turnout wasn't as high as I hoped, but every single entry that I received made me very happy, so I just had to give an award to each and every participant (although, yes, there is one overall winner - no peeking)!
There were three different Literal Sketches, so even if you participated, there are two to see that you will not have anticipated.
Let's get started!
Category 1: Burning the Candle at Both Ends.
Most Punnilicious: Scope, burning the Ken Doll at both ends!
Incidentally, I did try to hand out the three categories evenly, but Scope was the only one in this category who ended up doing it.***
Category 2: Monkey Wrench
Best use of Clip Art: Miss.Chief - just look at this adorable, cheery fellow.

Literal Sketchiest: Mr Condescending - I love that his tail is the wrenching mechanism. Also, the look of unbridled joy on his cute little face!

Most dazed & confused: Cora - Heehee, look at his spirally crazy eye!

Most Surprising Tangent: The Imaginary Reviewer, with a...

... monk-y wrench!
***
Category 3: Badgering the Witness
Most "Wait, is that even a badger?": Words... words... words... - I would hate to be under cross-examination by this evil and ferocious creature! It turns out American badgers are way more bad-ass than British ones.
Most worth handing in at the last minute: Morgan - I love that the bunny looks as if she is being extremely badgered!

And the overall winner is...
Drumroll please.....
Simon - The fact that this looks like a courtroom sketch is genius, but for some reason it's that little outstretched paw that just kills me.

Thank you so much to everyone who played. Maybe I will have to run this again sometime and more people might have a go?
Ladies and gentlemen, please take your Sweet Blogger Awards and display them with pride!

Wow those are amazing. Damn you artistic people!
Seriously very cool - congrats all

Words Words Words gets my vote, for the excellent expression on the witness's face.
The turn out was great S&C, I'm impressed!
I have to agree, simons was the best, I love them all though!
"Incidentally, I did try to hand out the three categories evenly, but Scope was the only one in this category who ended up doing it."
Way to rub it in. :)
Sorry I forgot. AGAIN. After I forgot the first time.
Kate - I know, I hate people who are better at stuff than me too!
TIR - Heh, it is pretty good huh?
Mr C - I know, I love them all too - and you all still get an award!!!
BeckEye - Awww. If I do it again I'll set a longer deadline, would that help? : )
Wow, well done guys. I totally meant to join in then forgot which is good because mine would not have been to those fine standards.
I liked Words' entry. It made me spurt juice on my shirt. I don't even know why.
Veggie - I was sad to not have a wobbly Veg masterpiece in this lot! Also, heh, you said "spurt".
Okay, those are some AWESOME entries, but I have to say my favorite one is Morgan's. I can just picture her scribbling away on that masterpiece on her notebook paper in class and that just cracks me up! MORGAN ROCKS!!
:-)
Aw, thanks, Soda – I shall put it up immediately. The award too.
And congratulations to all the other contestants who took part. Some great stuff there.
Oh yes, his is way better than mine. Although, a Badger floating in space is pretty kick-ass, isn't it? (My perspective lines apparently had their ass kicked since they aren't there. Whoops.
hahaha, those are awesome!
Cora - Heh, she certainly does. But you do as well! Have you ever thought about illustrating kid's books? I think your style would work really well.
Simon - Yay! Uh, I mean, you are most welcome, kind sir!
Morgan - Badgers Floating in Space would also make an excellent band name.
CA - They are rather, aren't they?
Do it again. That way I have the easiest shot at "Most Improved."
Please do run it again! I felt really terrible that I couldn't participate after being so excited about it.
Also, the Monk-y wrench made me roffle.
Good work everyone!
Scope - You know if I do run it again it's very likely to be the same Sweet Blogger Award, right?
Well Fed - I know! But real life gets in the way sometimes, huh?
I love Simon's. The solemn look on the badger's face and his simple gesture, combined with the shame of the defendant, lead me to believe that the badgering is well-deserved.
I'm just impressed by anyone who can draw. I can join the dots, does that count?
WWW - Hahaha, you said just what I think about it!
Madame DeF - As long as you enjoy it, it counts! Anyway, don't numbers and creativity use the same side of the brain?
These were just fantastic!
I liked them all but thought the monk-y wrench was the most original...
Hunter - True! Although perhaps less literal than others.
: )
